“Environment is stronger than will power,” Paramhansa Yogananda often told this advice to his students. On this retreat you will be with others who are also wishing to explore or deepen their yoga and meditation practice. Learn from instructors who have been meditating daily for many years and enjoy yourself in a peaceful, secluded setting. During this weekend you will be helped to establish a strong meditation and yoga practice that you can bring back home with you.

If you would like a longer stay, there’s a place on the registration form to either add extra nights or come early for a personal retreat or seclusion.

During this retreat you will:

What Others Are Saying

I arrived at the Ananda Meditation Retreat with very little experience in meditation and some limited exposure to western yoga. The warmth and acceptance and guidance of the incredible instructors at the retreat opened my heart and being to a new approach to meditation and yoga that enhances life. I have begun on a new journey that is exciting, invigorating and nurturing. Thank you to the Ananda Community for sharing your wisdom! – S.B., Sacramento

I highly recommend Ananda Meditation Retreat to anyone that is looking to gain a deeper understanding and working knowledge of yoga and meditation. The staff are all extremely well versed in these areas and share all of what they know with students. Every meal served during the retreat was delicious, and if you are camping there are plenty of secluded and beautiful spots to pitch your tent. Enjoy the peace and tranquility that Ananda so willingly gives to all. – Jadda Miller, Red Bluff, CA

It surpassed my any expectations i might have had.  I expected to just primarily do yoga postures. I was pleasantly surprised to have a mystical garden tour with Charles. The sunset hike/meditation to Bald Mountain was exquisite. I really enjoyed the connection to nature, experiencing sadhana anywhere. I thought at first it would be too geared toward those new to yoga, however I found I learned many new things and reinforced others. A wonderfully balanced program for those new to the path and those needing recharge.

For the first time in a while I feel truly happy. I felt the affect of this place instantly and it helped a great deal. I think this place spiritually changed my life. I feel so close to myself and nature. Thank you. —Tyler Bonde

I came here without any expectations. My heart was open and I was received with love and peace. This place is incredible. The people are real and wonderful. The grounds are sacred and open with magic whether you see it or not. The people here live what they teach. I highly recommend this retreat. It will open your awareness and you will leave better because of it. — Joe Littell, Sacrament, C
